Hi, I'm Monika. I am 29, married, and have two beautiful boys, ages 5 and 9 months. I am currently a part-time
in-home childcare provider. Before I had my youngest son, I worked at a daycare with 2-year-olds. I have a degree in Biological Sciences and someday hope to finish my degree in Nutrition. I have trained to be a Certified Nursing Assistant, and worked as a Physical Therapy Technician. I have always known that I want to spend my life serving others, I just didn't know exactly how I wanted to do it.
When my co-worker and I were pregnant at the same time and spent countless hours learning things we never knew about childbirth and parenting I had that "aha" moment. I realized that I wanted to make sure that other women knew the information that we had come across.
Then I found out that I could become a doula and do just that! Now I have completed a DONA training workshop and am taking clients.

My first birth was an induction. I was a young, single mother. I was not prepared or informed and I left the hospital feeling confused and like I was missing something. I felt pressured into every decision that was made.
My second birth was a natural birth (with a mild pain reliever). I felt empowered, well informed, and I couldn't wait to share my story with others! I want to help other women understand that they have options and help them to know how life changing birth can be when you get to fully experience what your body can do!

I love to learn everything I can about how our bodies are affected by what we eat, natural household products, herbal remedies, cooking for people with food allergies or intolerances, attachment parenting, home improvement, DIY projects, etc. I guess you could say that I call myself "crunchy". I am into baby wearing, cloth diapers, and trying to live in a "green household".
